Vintage Native American Cactus Rainstick Shaker / Rattle 10” Percussion Music Instrument. This rainstick has a beautiful sound and a beautiful natural organic look. It is perfect for making music or ceremonial dances. Rainsticks were originally made out of a stalk from a cactus, which would create the tube. Thorns that are inside of the cactus would be pressed into dead wood, thus creating the sound of rain when pebbles would hit against them. Pebbles, rice, or beans are put inside of a the rainstick to create the sound of rain or a river. The knitted band is just tied on and could be easily removed if you prefer a more natural look.
