Vintage Figural Padlock of Lord Hanuman,
Hindu God of Power, Strength and Loyalty,
Solid Brass, Made in India, With One Iron Key
Finely detailed solid brass padlock with one working,
original key. There is swinging key hole cover on the
front that reveals the key hole when moved.
When the
key is turned to the open position, the shackle lifts
completely out of the padlock body.
There is a
chain
attached to lock and to the shackle to prevent its loss.
The key is stamped 57 on the head and the padlock is
stamped 57 on the bottom.
The lock measures 4 1/4"h x 2 1/2" at its widest.
Lord Hanuman is an important deity in the Hindu pantheon.
He is half human and half monkey.
He was a faithful supporter
of Lord Rama in his fight against the demon king, Ravana.
His exploits are chronicled in the epic, 'Ramayana.'
The padlock is in excellent, unused, working condition, still in its plastic bag.
The brass is still bright.
