    Description

Something I started before July 4th but didn’t finish until this week, a very fine copy of a Revolutionary Sword of the 1775-1783 period, copied from a sword in procession of the Greensboro Historical Museum in Greensboro North Carolina. Made in my coal forge of 1095 Steel, HRC 55-60, tempered and sharp with a natural forged finish and my touch mark stamped to the blade. The guard is mild steel and the handle of pecan wood from a neighbors fallen tree. The tang runs through the handle and is locked down with a period looking nut and then peened over locking everything tight. This blade feels great in hand and comes with a leather belt hanging sheath. For all practical purposes “Battle Ready”. A great blade for a sword collector, show, reenacting, or just wall hanging in that special room. Would look great over a fireplace or a log cabin setting. Frankly, I’m really pleased with how it turned out.
