Halson PDS MTB Fork Judy Fournales Answer used Cnc vintage retro fork

Up for auction is my Halson PDS HD MTB Fork that just might be the best fork of its generation from my favorite era of cycling parts, the 1990’s. This fork is a unicorn in that it survived this long without any real use and Halson never got the popularity that their forks deserved so these were very much hard to come by even upon release. The Judy SL and Answer Mach Ti were mass produced junk whose claim to fame was low weight but squid like stiffness and terrible damping.
Steerer tube is 1-1/8th with a monster length of almost 11.5 inches.
It is light and just about the stiffest fork due to the large diameter legs, hollow box section crown, and tubular fork brace. All the anodized bits are a beautiful glossy anodized blue, like the canti brake hanger, elastomer caps, and lower legs.
The fork guards are still in very good condition and in one piece. The steerer tube is uncut, and the elastomers are all original. There is no cartridge to blow like the Judy or Manitou Forks, as it uses air as the damping mechanism. It just needs some lube as the fork hasn’t been serviced or even actually used. There are scratches from storage, and all the decals are intact and perfect shape. The dropouts have had wheels mounted and there also have been brakes mounted as well.
I have listed it as used but it’s essentially a new fork, but with various scratches from being moved, displayed, tested, etc. there is some corrosion on some of the steel bolts and steel spacers but it’s just light surface issues.
I’ve babied this fork and never had the courage to cut the steerer and wanted to use it for my ultimate build, but it seems I would rather stare at it than use it. Fellow collectors can feel my pain.
So hopefully this will go to someone who will appreciate the quality, craftsmanship, and rarity of the fork. And heck you might even cut the steerer tube to fit to your bike…
