    Description

185cm Blizzard Cochise 108 skis without bindings.
Manufacturered for the '17/'18 season, these Blizzard Cochise skis weigh ~2300g per ski, have a 27m radius, are 136mm wide at the tip, 108mm underfoot and 122mm wide at the tail. Deep, low-slung rocker up front splays up only at the very front of the ski after the widest point. Tail rocker is similarly deep, but does not splay at all, which gives this ski a rounded, yet flat tail.
Construction consists of carbon fiber tips and tails, two titanal metal sheets, poplar & beech wood and an additional piece of titanal for strong binding retention. Sidewalls are semi-cap, as in they are mostly vertical with a fiberglass topsheet that curves down over the tops of the skis.
I am the original owner of these skis and think they are very well-engineered big mountain skis for advanced or expert skiers. The metal, weight, and rocker profile makes them very stable, especially when landing big airs and making fast turns in variable conditions. There are very solid and confidence-inspiring underfoot. If you ski with a big, confident style, you will love them. Coming from a manufacturer like Blizzard, which makes great carving skis through their racing line, as well as the Brahma and Bonafide, these skis have the ability to carve at high edge angles, but they rarely feel fully "locked in", allowing you to pivot and speed check at any time.
I am selling these skis without bindings. They were most recently mounted on the factory-recommended line with Look Pivot 14 bindings for a 314mm boot sole. Before that, they were mounted with Marker Duke frame bindings about 4cm behind the recommended mount point (not one of my best ideas). Those holes were plugged by trustworthy ski technicians at my local ski shop. Due to the extra sheet of metal, I feel these skis can have holes reused, or new ones drilled without any noticeable impact on their performance or binding retention. Just note that if new holes are drilled into these skis, rule of thumb dictates that they should be at least 1cm away from the existing holes.
Another strength of these skis is the durability of the bases. I admit that I ski aggressively and have hit many rocks with these, but I've never had a core shot! Check the pictures! There are visible scuffs that would disappear with a stone grind of the bases. These skis have plenty of life left. The only damage of note are chips to the topsheets near the tip of each ski (pictured). One chip is on the inside edge of the left ski (or outside edge of the right ski if you wear these on different feet than I do). Another is at the very front of the right ski. A quick drop of epoxy can toughen these spots if they are a concern.
I hope these skis can find a good home!
